One Sweet Moment

I will let your dad write about Father's Day cause it was his day. However I want to tell you about a moment that meant so much to me. It was the end of the service and your daddy went down front to pray right next to my daddy. I always get chills when your daddy does that - it is something about seeing the man leading you bowing before the LORD that is humbling, thrilling, and comforting. Anyway, your Uncle Carter (Uncle C-Hop as he calls himself) was next to me and I could see he was contemplating something. All of a sudden he brushed past me, went to the front, knelt down beside your daddy, and prayed over him. Instantly, my eyes welled with tears. I know others like Pops went down there too. You come from a heritage of Godly men and that makes you really blessed. I pray you follow in their steps as they follow Him - not for their glory or name - but for His Glory and Name. I love you sweet baby boy!

I saw it on the screen before the nurse even pointed it out. I didn't say it out loud out of fear of it actually being your arm or something instead of what I thought it was. I was so thrilled when she told us you are a boy!! I hear there is no relationship like the one between a mama and a son!! I hope you grow up to be a lot like your daddy! I have to give your dad credit. He said you were a boy the moment we found out we were pregnant. He even wore all blue to the doctor's appointment where they told us you were a boy. I had prayed prayer that my friend Casey told me she prayed the day that they went to find out the gender of their baby (fyi - she is having a boy too - i hope her baby and you experience a friendship like the one casey and I have with one another!). It went a little something like this, "God, allow his/her legs to be wide open for this ultrasound and then not ever again - at least for a long time!" Your Aunt Jacklyn bought us "It's a Boy!" suckers. So thoughtful! I was so excited all day at work that by the afternoon I had worn myself slap out! I could barely hold my eyes open!! Now, its time to come up with your name!

At the home concert for choir tour tonight, the students and leaders gave Jared and I a blue Washington, D.C. onesie and a pink one! I loved it!! They are too sweet!!! We find out tomorrow if you are a boy or a girl! I hope I can sleep tonight!!
