Mrs. Louise

From Mama...

Tonight we got to go eat at Mrs. Louise Bibbs' house. She is one of those people that I look up to so much that I hope to be like her when I get older. She is a hard worker for the LORD and she serves Him relentlessly at the young age of ___ (I will leave this blank in order to protect the innocent, but just know she is older than your grandmothers). When we went to sit down for dinner, she had presents for you sitting under our napkins. So thoughtful and sweet! The dinner was delicious! I was super appreciative because I feel bad for your dad that I haven't cooked much lately. Don't get me wrong, your dad never complains, but I was so glad he got a home cooked meal! After dinner, we visited for awhile. Side note: Visit often with people who are lots older than you. They often have tons of wisdom that will be helpful for you in life. Side note over. When we were about to leave, I offered to help Mrs. Louise with the dishes. Her response was priceless, "Honey, you are not in your prime right now. Go home and rest." Here she was a woman in her __'s, who works all day, made us dinner, and then sent me home to rest while she cleaned the kitchen. She is always teaching me about being a servant.

I LOVE my small group girls

From Mama...

There is a group of senior girls I have had in my small group or Sunday School class since they were freshmen. I love them to death. We have been through so many ups and downs together. We have learned, laughed, and cried together. We told the students in Sunday School on Sunday morning and this is how I found my car when we got out of church. It made me feel so loved and special. Thank you sweet girls for always loving on me. I love doing life together with y'all. May we finish your senior year strong. Growing closer together and to Christ. I love each of you.

You Know You're Pregnant When...

From Mama...

I have decided to do a theme of You Know You Are Pregnant When... blogs. These will be written when I have movements when I realize...This is definitely a pregnant woman moment. My first You Know You're Pregnant When...

You bring a whole bag of Ginger Snaps in your purse to church to keep down the nausea.

From My Desk

From Dad...

Remember when I said that we had been caught in the OBGYN. It was Mrs. Jean Swearingen. Sunday I got to my office, started getting ready for Sunday School, and found a letter on my desk. Carrie and I had decided to tell the students (everybody) that morning about having a baby, so we were still really worried that our secret had gotten out. That's when I read the sweetest letter:

"Dear Carrie and Jared, I was a witness to a happy announcement. I'm sending my heart felt congratulations! I'll not tell! In His name and mine, Jean Swearingen."

She had not told a soul. We were so thrilled to know that she had seen us and kept our secret. It will always be part of our little story.
